Altman on MarketWatch

William Altman (MA ‘86) was featured on MarketWatch for his work at Kindred Healthcare, Inc. William joined Kindred in 1996 and has worked as the executive vice president for strategy, policy and integrated care since May 2012 and senior vice president for strategy and public policy from January 2008 until May 2012. He is responsible for working with policymakers and national trade organizations to advance Kindred’s strategic plans.

Prahl joins Pillsbury United Communities

Lexi Prahl (MURP ‘14) is now an operations manager for the charter authorization department at Pillsbury United Communities. She will be working there as well as at Aurora Consulting, LLC as an associate consultant.

Previously, Lexi worked as a data strategist for Chicago Public Schools. While there she extracted data from different databases and organized it into concise dashboards and actionable plans to improve the quality of public school options.

Schicker presents at National Conference

Teresa Schicker (MPA '13) presented research at the American Public Health Association National Conference.  This was an invited presentation with School of Nursing Associate Professor Laura Duckett, BSN, MS, PhD, MPH, RN.  The poster presentation was based on Teresa and Laura's collaborative work in the University of Minnesota Senate and was titled, "From then until now: 20 years of progress in supporting nursing mothers at a large public university in the Midwest."

Additionally, Teresa recently took a new position with the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education as project coordinator of a national network of health researchers in interprofessional education and collaborative practice.  Teresa was previously a project manager in the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota.

Curt Yoakum (MPP ‘08) began working as the assistant commissioner of communications and planning for the Minnesota Department of Administration (MDA) in July of 2014. He was previously the director of communications and legislation for the MDA.
