Emerson, director of government relations at the public affairs firm Goff Public, helped pass a landmark criminal justice law (exoneree compensation statute on behalf of the Minnesota Innocence Project), and a major human services reform initiative on behalf of the Minnesota Association of County Social Service Administrators.
A program recognizing honorees was held Thursday, July 17 at the St. Paul Hotel.
Originally from Hawarden, IA, Emerson graduated from the University of Michigan and received a Masters in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs. She currently resides in Saint Paul’s West 7th neighborhood.
