Goodspeed joins the Chicano Latino Affairs Council

Sarah Goodspeed.jpgIn October of 2012, Sarah Goodspeed (MS-STEP '10) joined the Chicano Latino Affairs Council (CLAC) as their Legislative and Community Relations Manager. She is responsible for much of CLAC's legislative drafting and lobbying during session; meeting with community groups to know what they need, work with state agencies, House Research and the Revisor to know what is possible and draft that language, and with legislators and the Governor to see it through.

She also recently planned the Latino Legislative Day at the Capitol for hundreds of Latino community members to get engaged and share their priorities with their legislators, and will have community forums throughout the year to continue to hear and share resources with those who are often underserved by state agencies.

Sarah is learning to prioritize her home life while maintaining a high standard of work as well as a presence in environmental networks. However, she is trying to take more time to relax, go to the gym, take a road trip, and catch up with other Humphrey alumni!
