Plowden joins Children's Defense Fund and is featured in YWCA publication

Thumbnail image for plowden.jpgIn June, Chandra Plowden (MPP '10) joined the Children's Defense Fund (CDF) as the Beat the Odds® Program(BTO) and CDF Internship Program coordinator. In this role, Plowden facilitates the selection of five Beat the Odds Scholarship recipients and provides resources to program participants and alumni. Plowden also requests and secures all in-kind donations for Beat the Odds Scholars from third-party corporations and foundations, leads CDF's internship placement, and manages all CDF National Office interns.

In addition, Plowden was featured in the YWCA's publication Our Voices because of her work as the first Racial Justice & Public Policy Fellow, a new collaboration between the YWCA and the Humphrey School. Find a PDF of the article here: Collaborating For Racial Justice
