Mertz joins Oxfam Great Britain

Anne Mertz (MPP '02) writes, "I am working for Oxfam Great Britain in Oxford, England. I came as a volunteer and was quickly hired into a full-time job. In my volunteer role, I am writing research briefs on how to change ideas and attitudes toward poverty. In my paid job, I am recruiting, inducting, and deploying people to places like Pakistan and Banda Aceh. I am here on a six-month student/newly graduated student work visa. I have no idea what will happen at the six-month point, but I am too busy to worry about that now! It is quite difficult to get a work visa for the UK, so if there are HHH students who have ever thought it would be great to work here, they should check out the BUNAC or CIEE web sites and `Just Do It'."
